Leia's and Annie's Birthday Party on the Lake: Labor Day 2014

With lots of ice cream cake and tubing and gifts and boating and sleeping bags (as is tradition), the girls requested their "friend party" to be at the lake again this year. It was a whirlwind of fun, with the most requested activity being tubing ... with as many friends as would fit. Annie and Leia loved showing off their tricks. And Mamma was keen that each family that joined us got their own Why don the tube together. Where last year lair received her Angelina Bunny, this year she really received her Angelina kitty! She also received a beautiful friendship necklace. And of course, both girls got many other beautiful gifts not pictured here.

First Day of School: Leia (6th) & Annie (2nd)

It is an important year for both of our girls! For Leia, it is her first day of middle school! For Annie, it is the year will she where she will make her First Communion! Note that I still read the book called "The Kissing Hand" the night before, and the girls have the special sticker that shows my love for them even during the school day. They are a bit too old to wear it on their hands now, so Annie chose a special place on her book bag and Leia chose a special place on her pencil case.

Exploring Botany Bay

At the end of Botany Bay Road is a plantation & a secluded, protected beach. Because no one is allowed to remove shells from the beach, Shana and her friends (long ago) began the tradition of putting the most spectacular shells on the trees downed by erosion. We caught the traditional "Edisto Pelican Line" and the very "Edisto" phenomenon of "flames in the sand" as well.
