This is a very special dog. The girls have named him Dogulus. He belongs to a distant neighbor, and he helped protect Annie on one of our hard days when she had an issue with the toaster. He would not leave until we were all safe. I feel like this dog is truly Saint Francis incarnate. He has beautiful brown eyes. They are very distinct. Whenever he sees us, he immediately lays down on his back, exposing his belly, hoping to he petted, and looking us in the eyes. Then he gets up and circles Annie. If you believe in the Harry Potter universe, I kind of think of Dogulus as St Francis as an animagus. He is a very very special dog. Special enough for me to kiss him on the mouth. :-)
