Fall Chalk Decorations

These pictures really do not do this art Justice. Much of our fall has been spent riding bikes in a circle on the top of our driveway. :-) with chalk, the girls did a beautiful fall scene including Jack O'Lanterns bunnies and a bowl full of candy! Fall is here!

Remembering Pop-Pop

... Paul posted a beautiful Montage on Facebook, and I thought it would be beautiful to include it here.

Tubing with Ashley and Friends

Annie's Newest Sewing Project: a Cat

Smacked by Kitty

Whenever we put our rabbit, Kitty, next to our face, she always puts her paw on our cheek. The girls think it's funny that it looks like kitty is slapping us. Leia really wanted to document that today. :-)

Annie's North Carolina Brochure

According to 4th grade tradition, including when Mamma was in 4th grade, all of the 4th graders do a unit on State history. Annie studied all about North Carolina and, just like Leia, was asked to do a brochure on the state. She was very proud of the finished product!

Harvest Turns 16 on September 12

Mountain State Fair 2016: Friend Day

The only sad thing about this day was that Leia's friend Harvest couldn't come. :-( Annie went around with her new friend from school named Dulce! We also tried the new fried food, fried cookie dough! and, of course, and he had to do one bunny photo bomb. We all had a great time!

Mountain State Fair 2016: The Thompson Girls

Mountain State Fair: Craft Winnings!

Mamma is glad to say that there was only happiness this year and no tears, with Leia winning the most prestigious award while Annie won the most awards. Leia won judges choice for her yoga bugs recycled art project, she also won second place for her blue Pottery plate that she spun on the Wheel. Annie won second place for her plaster craft called bunnies in the sunlight, and she also won two third-place prizes, one for her chubby bunny ceramic and one for her set of pots done in the coil method. We are so proud of the girls!

Mountain State Fair 2016: Family Day

Beginning, as we usually do, with food, we began our family day at the mountain state fair with turkey legs and corn and funnel cakes! We did everything together today including a new Karate type show called team rock, where the girls were invited to break a wooden block afterwards, we also saw the traditional pig racing which is always fun, and tried out the loom where we found Kimber and Leyla! Next it was time to try our hand with woodworking, where all three of us girls made a wooden vase! I even included a before and after picture. We always round out the day by going on the Skyway together, and then letting the girls play one game or get one souvenir. This year Annie chose a Pokemon plush toy, while Leia chose a t-shirt by a graphic artist with the Legend of Zelda on it. But, of course, the highlight of the day is always seeing the girls winnings for their crafts! This will be continued in the next post...
