Advent Calendar 2024

 As was tradition from the time Harvest was a little boy, we give each of the children an advent calendar with a present for each day of December. This year was extra special because we also made the boxes containing the gifts complete with the first letter of their names.

... and so ... THE FIRST GIFT OF CHRISTMAS ...

...  Was a sticker of a cat dabbing. There was also Christmas costumes for the cats, large pixie sticks, and of course a special Among Us figurine.

Mega Church Baptism

 Today marked the first time that I ever attended a mega church and it was quite an experience! Everything about it was theatrical even the lighting and the music. But what I wasn't expecting was a baptism that ended with a proof of confetti! It was wonderful to share this time with Danielle and William, both co-workers at wal-mart at their baptisms at Upward Christian Fellowship.

First Cracker Barrel & Bucc-ee's

 Today we also visited the very first Cracker Barrel in Lebanon Tennessee (which ironically looked like every other Cracker Barrel) and we stopped at Bucc-ee's in Pigeon Forge.

I am a BIG fan of Daisy Duke,  who often saves the day on The Dukes of Hazzard . So it was great fun to sit in Daisy's Jeep ! One day I hope to have one of my own! ... and I will name her "Dixie."

Cooter’s Place : The Dukes of Hazzard Museum

On the way home we saw a billboard for Cooter’s Place : The Dukes of Hazzard Museum in Nashville, NC and we HAD to take this opportunity! We have been watching the entire series together and are right in the middle of it! It was a DREAM to see all of this memorabilia all collected together from Brian's favorite childhood show!

Today was the fulfillment of a childhood dream for Brian: to ride in the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard which was his favorite TV show growing up! This experience was so special, this photo even made it onto the Christmas Card This year!

The Wedding of My Godson , Gregory

Here I am with my godson, Gregory Cannata. Although I hoped for a Catholic ceremony, I was still so happy to attend this Tennessee wedding, despite the rain. The venue was gorgeous! ... And ss often happens these days, I felt old. There was a QR code on the invitation linking us to a website. There was a small cake with cupcakes and macarons. The mother of the bride wore sneakers. And there was a photo booth for all to use.
