Student Prayer Request Ministry
For all of the girls' years of middle school, I was in charge of the Student Request Prayer Ministry: a beautiful way to serve both the students and the parents of the school. It involved meeting at 2:30 on Fridays in the beautiful School Chapel and praying the Rosary for any requests places in the prayer box. At the student Mass on Fridays, the box was brought up to the altar during the Presentation of the Gifts and remained there for the entire Liturgy of the Eucharist. The only reason why this ministry ended was that our Franciscans left the parish, only to be replaced by diocesan priests who turned our school chapel into a health room. The end of this ministey broke many hearts, including mine.

Leia's Graduation Gifts
Not the graduation post I thought I'd be sharing today, but still beautifully significant. Leia is in Portland, Oregon. She finished her high school education online She had no desire to either walk or go to prom. So here I am sending a very special package. Engraved with her name in gold, this is a new copy of the EXACT BIBLE that I got for my own high school graduation. (I also got one for Annie at the same time for her graduation many years from now. If you scroll down, you can see Oma's inscription in my own copy.
Weight Loss Challenge
Although not a game I thought I would be playing with my children, it at least makes weight loss fun! Annie won!
