Annie Reads at Mass

With Oma & Papa & Mamma & Leia watching, Annie read the beautiful Responsorial Psalm at this Friday's school Mass. Mamma made her the special necklace and barette duo for the occasion. We were SO proud of her!

Happy Children Live Here

I have heard it said that you should always be able to write the word "love" in the dust on the counters of your home. It is a testament to spending time and experiencing things with your children, instead of spending all of the time cleaning. I have always taken that to heart. There was a teacher at Sacred Heart, before I had children, that told me one of the best pieces of advice that I've ever heard. As she cried at her own mistake, she said, "Noelle, hire someone to clean your house, and play with your children!" Well, I don't have enough money to have someone clean my house, but I also don't mind it being a little bit dirty. These pictures are a testament to that idea. The girls have recently begun to climb the wall, ... literally. It makes me smile every time they do it! When they are at school, I love looking at their hand prints on the wall, and smiling. I also found Annie's handprint on the windshield of my car, where Annie had climbed out of the sunroof and come down. I had to take a picture of that as well!! I love my children! I'm so glad they're happy! And I'm so glad we allow them to have fun!

New Art Above My Zittle Annie

I would like to say that this was only done because Annie is turning 8,... However, that's not completely true. The Yellow Jacket nests that we had trouble with last year, came back double this year! Before they came through the ceiling, we took care of it, & I just made the bigger hole into a bigger piece of art! There is a secret to the cloud in that I drew about 20 different pictures within the cloud for her to find when she is upstairs trying to fall asleep. The whole thing made Annie feel so special,... And we decided not to tell her anything about the wasp activity up there. :-)

Making Monster Cupcakes

Inspired by a book that Annie checked out of the library, the girls really wanted to do a baking craft of Monster cupcakes! We invited Harvest over, and we got to work! They came out really beautifully, and ended up being the birthday cake for Ollie's birthday party!
