This year held one of the two A+ homilies that I have ever heard. It was from Saint Andrews and it was as follows: "This Advent, just remember JOY. Do something for Jesus, do something for Others, & do something for Yourself." Above is my attempt to do just that, but I was attempting it before I heard the homily. For Jesus, I was busy learning the our father in Aramaic, Which is the sheet you can see hanging from the dashboard of my car. It took me a few weeks of repetition to learn it, But now I know it just like I know the Shema in Hebrew. The book I am holding is a special one from my youth, a first edition of the best Christmas pageant ever. The director who directed the chosen, Dallas Jenkins, finally got the rights to this book and made a movie that came out this year. We all went to see it together and it was wonderful! What I did for others besides making Christmas treats, is I bought a whole lot of these books, copy the original sketches end pictures from the new movie and inserted them into the books then gave them out to people who I hold dear. As for myself, I wanted to paint A statue of our lady of Guadalupe. I purchased it a year and a half ago and it was done in primary colors poorly, and I was very unhappy with the paint job. I vowed I would do it myself and paint it in accordance with the colors of our our lady of Guadalupe statue at the church. I finally did it! So I guess this was a gift not only for me but for the blessed mother. I will put that picture in a later post.
A new tradition that Harvest and Leia have started in the past couple of years is making homemade gingerbread cookies come in this year they added red peppermint icing!
As always during event, Annie loves to help me wrap gifts. And as usual, she didn't want this picture taken.
At Saint Andrew's this year, they had a remembrance tree so I included an ornament for my dad Dino Anthony Compare.
