Annie's Birthday Morning (& Annie Learns to Blow a Balloon!)

Annie had a birdie birthday morning today as she turned five years old. Her main desires of the day? She wanted a stuffed animal peacock and a very special purple pony. She got both, ... as well as some other birdie things, ... and bunny things procured before her "birdie stage" began. : ) We had to keep the present opening & playing early because Annie's party was going to be on the same day this year! Annie ended her morning with learning to blow up a yellow balloon! What a first!!! All-in-all it was a happy morning, except for one thing. Mamma worked very hard on the special cake that featured our cockatiel Teddy sitting on the head of our bunny, Ollie. Well, unbeknownst to me, Leia came along and dug her finger into the frosting multiple times! Someone ended up in the corner for that one, ... with a threat of spanking if it was done again, ...

Interesting that Annie loves birds so much! Does she pay attention to birds in your yard? Has she learned to identify any of your birds??

Thanks, Nina! ... Yes, we have many bird and squirrel feeders now. She is VERY interested. She can identify cardinals, titmice, chicadees, red-tailed hawks, wild turkeys (of course), crows, ... working on her about carolina wrens. : )
