Hawaii 2021: Highlights

In 2021, Brian and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in Hawaii, ... MY TREAT! I saved for years to afford this trip, and it was well worth it! It was also wonderful to take Annie along so that she could experience this beautiful state as well.

(It is important to note that the only reason we were able to travel to Hawaii for this long and in this fancy of a resort was because of Covid-19. Why? Because travel restrictions were on just lifted. People were scared. Hawaii had more stringent policies than the rest of the US. Travelers who didn't know about the "Hawaii Safe Travels Program," or who weren't vaccinated, had to be quarantined in their hotel for 10 days. Couples were being arrested who did not do so. It was only in June that 14-year-olds were allowed to be vaccinated, so we got Annie the shot on the first day! They had, only days before, lifted the mandatory testing pre-flight. We would insist that this may be the ONLY window in that the Delta variant began raging during this time, and the Governor began limiting travel yet again. As a rest of all these things, the cost of flights and accommodations were at an all-time low. In fact, the price of.this trip for 3 people for the same amount of time, cost LESS than it did in 1998 when Brian and I honeymooned here 25 years ago! It's why we created a new slogan. "Covid 19: Allowing the Middle Class to Travel Again."

Here are the trip highlights (with more detailed descriptions and further photos in future posts):
