SECU Bike Ride

Before we moved into the area, the people who owned our home previously told us that the SECU (State Employee Credit Union) was a great place to learn to ride a bike after business hours. So this Sunday we headed over there to help Leia Rose practice. She did great! But she never balanced herself for more than three seconds or so. Soon . . .

Play-Doh Creation Fascination

Look at this fabulous chocolate cake!!!
But this is my favorite: a banana, cherries, blueberries, and water with a straw!

Leia's Recital 2009

This Mamma just cannot seem to express how proud I was of my daughter today. Not only did Leia Rose smile and perform to perfection, but more importantly, she had FUN with her most special (and only) extracurricular activity! What a joy for a Mamma to see! (And certainly worth the two days of me turning into what I call "Hitler Show Mamma" when there was more practicing than any kid would ever want.) The tap number (Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah) was first, followed by another trip to the potty and dressing for the ballet number (Once Upon a Dream). Both performances were superb! (And I just couldn't help noticing that the other class her age REALLY didn't practice as much as our girls did at home.) And, just like in dress rehearsal, Annie got into it as well. What's really funny, though, is that Annie's song type of choice was Hip-Hop! HA! Whenever a hip-hop song would come on, Annie would be twirling in the aisles! : ) So I had to dedicate a few motion shots to my dear Annie, . . . who now wants to be in dance next year! : ) And the most spectacular surprise? Leia Rose got an award (the only child in the whole dance school) for being the child that was "most dedicated to dance." Leia Rose was SO proud of that medal! . . . but perhaps even more excited about her gift of a Jasmine costume and the bluebird that she could FINALLY play with! : ) You can see her snuggling her bluebird at a new Irish restaurant downtown where Grandma and Grandpa took us all to celebrate. I thought I would end with the "professional" photo that I shot a while ago. I followed that up with the true professional photos (which are blurry until I can procure a scanner) that feature Leia Rose, Katie, Lilly, and Ava up front. What a sweet class of dedicated girls! Then I included the special 2009 shot of Leia and the special photo of both of the girls. Congratulations, Leia Rose! We love you!!!

Dress Rehersal 2009

Immaculata Talent Show

Today Leia Rose was one of the performers at the Immaculata Talent Show! : ) What surprised me the most was that she chose to do her TAP number (and not her ballet) in the talent show!!! : )

Leia Rose also performed in the poem/song "I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly" . . . as the Goat! : ) We actually used our Lonely Goatherd goat puppet for the performance, and it was a hoot! (Pictures are pending.)
BUT the real hit for Leia in regards to the talent show, was a group of middle school boys who did a comedy act. Ha! Leia Rose LOVES slapstick, . . . and humor in general! : )

Rose Petal Bath

As I took Annie's "Annie Rose" pictures today, Annie was slowly gathering up a huge bag of pink rose petals as her "treasures." : ) Then Mamma had a GRAND idea! . . .
