Rope drop is a bit different in disneyland, as there isn't as much space. Here we are in front of the train station at the entrance to the park. The way Disneyland does it is they let you go inside the park and then wait at the Rope drop at one of the few different areas to enter. Just a small bit of trivia about the train station above, if you listen as you are walking through it you will hear a telegraph message with different dots and dashes and Morse code. It is the opening day speech that Disney gave at Disneyland in 1955. Ironically, it used to be a little bit off until a morse code military operator walked through, listened and analyzed and corrected it!
The fire department, and specifically the light in the window is one of the things that I was most excited to see. This is because this fire department has an apartment above it where Disney stayed with his family when he visited the park. Whenever he visited the park, the light would be on above the Disney Fire Department sign. Now it is lit continually in honor of Walt disney. To the left of the fire department is a Promenade deck where Disney would view Main Street and also have invited guests for parties.
