Disneyland with April & Emily 2025: History of Disneyland Museum, Beginnings & Concept Art

This is the piece of memorabilia that I was most interested in seeing at disneyland. This is the actual bench where Walt Disney created the idea, the Merry-Go-Round horse his daughter's road while he created the idea, and to the right is the peanut cart that Disney would always purchase peanuts from and snack on them while his children rode the merry-go-round. this museum, at the very beginning, is the story of how Walt Disney created the idea of Disneyland. While sitting on this at Griffith Park in Los Angeles Walt Disney wondered why there wasn't a place where children and parents could go together to have fun instead of parents just sitting there watching their children have fun. It was here that Disneyland was born! After Disneyland was successful, Walt Disney went back and purchased the items from the original Griffith park.
Here are all of the Antiques and Furnishings from the actual apartment over the Disneyland fire station, the only thing that is a reproduction is the lamp because that is still burning in the actual fire station.
Now for the concept art of the museum. Here is the New Orleans Square concept art.
Here is the Adventureland concept art.
Here is the original map concept art.
The next couple of pictures are Fantasyland and the castle concept art. the concept art at the top middle of this picture is significant as it was supposed to be the front of the castle. Sunset
There is a funny story behind this particular picture of the original Castle concept art. This is the concept art for the back of the castle. Front of the castle is found in the picture with me standing beside it. The original idea of the front of Sleeping Beauty Castle was iconically rejected by disney. He just didn't like the way it looked so all they did was use the back of the castle for the front and Disney was fine with it! So I took a picture of myself at the back of the actual Sleeping Beauty Castle because this was from the original concept art
Concept art for the teacups and fantasyland.
Main Street concept art.
It's a Small World concept art. The bottom of this picture made Emily stop in her tracks and she said, I have this in my room! She does! It was my gift to April at Emily's birth! It is the original concept art of It's a Small World signed by Mary blair, the artist.
