It's Snowing!

After ballet class today, we all went out to Panera Bread for lunch. Afterwards, we turned around and, . . . It was snowing!!! On the way home, I taught the girls a new word: "accumulate." I told them it meant "gather on the ground," just for ease of description. ; ) And after a few attempts (with Shenan preciously calling it "a-clam-lee-ate," with an ironic twist to our friend Lee, the weather forecaster we were watching today) both girls were saying the word correctly. ; )

Just another little tidbit on the ride home that was really precious. At one point, Shenandoah leaned over to Leia Rose and said, "Leia, am I your bestest friend in the whole world?" Leia smiled and said, "Yes!. . . Am I your bestest friend in the whole world?" Shenan smiled and said, "Yes, but Jackson is my bestest school friend." "And Jessica is my bestest school friend."

And when we got home, the girls couldn't resist catching a few select snowflakes on their tongues! I thought this was so cute!

And what better way to celebrate snow than with a, . . . cup of hot cocoa? No. A warm bowl of soup? No. A freezing cold snow cone?!? Yes!!! As Laura says, Shenandoah has been a bit obsessed with "picking out" things from a very early age. This was her dream: EIGHT yummy flavors to choose from. : ) The girls decided they wanted a "three one," which meant they wanted a tri-colored snowcone. They had blue/red/pink.

No, the totals didn't reach the predicted 2-5 inches, but the results were beautiful anyway:
