Today Leia Rose had another glowing dentist appointment! No cavities! It was the first time that I did have a couple of concerns, however. First, my fear is that her mouth is so small that it's crowding her teeth together and pushing her left front tooth out. (It was.) Second, I was afraid that the two times she has bumped that same front tooth has made it loose. (It did.) But they took some x-rays and said that her two front teeth are starting to detach naturally, with no trauma!!! She'll begin losing teeth probably by this summer! And Leia was THRILLED to see the Tooth Fairy twice today ("in her house, Mamma!"), . . . Leia's convinced that the Tooth Fairy actually lives at her dentist's office. : ) We had a whole conversation about it! Further, our dentist couldn't believe that Annie had all of her teeth! (Her child is the exact same age, 15 months, and has only FOUR, . . . but that kid walked at 10 months.) : )
But her favorite part of the visit? Getting a dinosaur toothbrush! : )
And just another cute Leia Rose story. We've been reading James and the Giant Peach lately as our latest chapter book. Well, I don't know if you remember it, but the beginning is horribly sad with poor James being taunted and tortured by his two horrible aunts. Numerous times now, after a particularly sad incident, Leia Rose has said, "I don't want to read this book anymore!" Poor little Leia! It's so interesting that she's affected so much by this poor boy's horrid fate, more than any other issue before: more than the threat of Babe/Wilbur being killed, more than Mathilda being put in the chokey, heck, more than the Wicked Witch of the West. I told her while we were snuggling later that I hoped it would remind her of what a nice family life we have here. ; )
