The Trip Home

Right before we left, our family had an epiphany. We have been trying to figure out this particular sign of Annie's. (I was never able to capture Annie doing it, so I had Leia Rose recreate it here.) The sign means, "I'm thirsty!" And actually, it makes lots of sense. This is the way Annie holds her cup, she just moved her hands to her face to do the sign! She had been periodically doing this sign daily, and I had NO idea what she was trying to say. Now I know!!! (When Annie was thirsty in the past, she would end up whining. I think this is because she would get confused by the signs "drink" and "milk" and "juice." We just needed one general sign, . . . turns out she created her own! : )
This is what happens when Mamma and Daddy need Annie occupied while they are packing. At least Cherry Chat Chat is watching, too.
During the trip home, Leia Rose was obsessed with doing what she called a "show," where she would draw a picture (this one is "Leo" from Little Einsteins) and then want me do video her describing it.
A T-Rex, grass, and a sunshine.
This one is "a brontosaurus pulling Santa's sleigh"! (Secretly, I think she was trying to make a reindeer, but made the neck too long to fit any antlers in.)
Annie loves french fries. In fact, she loves french fries so much that if she sees someone else eating fries (or even someone else with fries on their plate) she will whine and scream (one of the VERY few times she does so). As a result, no one in our family is allowed to have any fries (or make their fries appear) until Annie has eaten lots of her more substantial food. We had Chic-Fil-A for lunch, and Annie Katharine was very happy.
Intensely eating french fries really wore Annie out. So much so that if you zoom in closer, you'll see that she fell asleep . . .
. . . with a fry in her hand!!!
