Strawberry Picking Yet Again!

Today we were SO happy to take Sarah (formerly "Mrs. McDowell") to share in our secret patch.
Here was the event of the day. Annie found it too hard to pull the strawberries off without having them mush in her hands, . . . so she compromised!!!
And even though Annie was "a little grumpsie" today, we still had lots of fun!

Looks like it's the big girls who set the precedent today on messiness!!! We were there not five minutes when Sarah keeled on a strawberry and I stepped in mucky mud! Mmmmmm, squishy!!!

And at the end, I asked Leia Rose to show me her bucket, . . . and here are her fourteen strawberries, . . . each with a very neat nibble taken out of the end. Ha!

I looks like Annie kneeled on a couple of strawberries, too . . .
. . . and sat on a couple. ; )
But most of what she was interested in today was the straw. I remember Leia Rose being REALLY interested in straw at this age as well.
. . . And fascinated with tractors, too. A couple chugging down the road actually honked when we waved to them today from the patch! Exciting!
And Leia Rose was so observant today! She noticed some bee hives right near the patch and asked if we could visit them. I said we could, but as I drove over there, . . . well, let's just say they were VERY active hives, . . . so we didn't end up getting out of the car. Ha!
And both going and coming Sarah serenaded Annie with a rousing version of . . .

"Old MacDonald had a Farm"! (What else?!?) ; )
