Time with Oma & Papa

In early April we were blessed with a visit by Oma, Papa, and Auntie April. First let me say that the day before Oma and Papa came, I took Annie over to her special picture board in her room and asked her about the Oma and Papa picture. I began with Papa's name (thinking it was lots easier to say) and surely Annie said Papa, . . . and then said Oma as well! I was so amazed and proud! (She couldn't really say Auntie April, though. Sorry April.)
Annie's usual "Name the Farm Animals Mixer" to get all visits off to a great start!!! ; )

There were some very special moments between Papa and Annie this week. There were many times Papa would turn to me and say, “Annie really likes me!!!” And she does!!!
Eventually we went to Oma & Papa's storage unit, and Leia Rose drew this on the way: a picture of Princess Leia and Luke. Um, yes, Princess Leia looks very "womanly," doesn't she? ; )
And at the storage unit place, Annie loved playing with the stones by picking them up and putting them on the concrete slab. Such simple pleasures!
Walking to see the cows and goats at Fearrington Village.
Annie's best version of "Naaaaaahhhh!"
And here, if you look closely, you can see her saying the word "goat."
But THIS, I'm afraid was the bane of my existence: Leia feeding the goats grass.
That's because Annie wanted to do it too, and unlike this picture where I had given her a really long strand, . . . she kept grabbing the tiny bits of grass mixed with mud (and who knows what else) right by this green gate. I'm afraid the outing ended with Mamma freaking out about ecoli and rushing home to wash and make dinner.
Ah, and here is Leia Rose wearing her lipstick. : )
And it was a very special moment when Leia Rose was able to show Oma and Papa the special card she made for them. That's the one that read (translated) Leia Rose Love Oma Papa So Much. (Please see previous posts.)
Leia Rose was so inspired by Oma & Papa's reaction to her letter, she decided to write the name of our continent, so North America became "North Umericu." (Hey, good sounding out, Leia! You know the letter "U" sounds like "uh." ; )
And as Brian and Leia wanted to watch Star Wars Tech yet again, suddenly I remembered that I had a cool Millennium Falcon memory toy/game that features real sounds from the movie. They both loved it!

And Oma gave the girls the best bath toys ever. They're called Twirl-A-Squirts. Annie's was a frog and Leia's was a ladybug. They actually make a little lighted fountain right in the bath water!!! This picture was highly representative of how they reacted: Leia loved it, but Annie was baffled by the things and just wondered what she should do. : )
