"What did you do at school today, Leia?"

Today when I approached Artgarden, Mrs. Schnell pulled me aside and told me to go in and look at the family trees. The extended day children took lots of time today drawing and painting their own family tree (to which we are supposed to send them with the pertinent list tomorrow). I'll include the photo here when it comes home in the work folder. She said that the extended day kids were doing more extensive work on trees, and this was part of it. Neat! Now for what Leia said:

"Today we did a family tree. Family trees are trees. Family trees are family. And when someone brings blue cheese for dipping they always spill the blue cheese. [Oh, did someone bring blue cheese dressing to dip veggies in for snack?] Oh no, no one had blue cheese today. [What?!?] Painting family trees was the most fun thing today. Mrs. Schnell didn't have brown, so we made brown paint. We mixed water colors and water. There was water in each cup and this juicy kind of water color, they mixed together to make this watery paint. . . . Hey Mamma, look! That cloud looks just like a horseshoe!"
