Here is Annie during lunch today, staring in awe at a cardinal on our bird feeder. I have been trying to point birds out to her lately, but you know that nine-month-olds don't understand the concept of "pointing." So we just happened to have a plethora of birds today at lunch that caught her eye. Every time she looked at me, I excitedly said (and signed) "Birdie!" "Birdie!" "Birdie!" It was just so amazing to see that childlike sense of wonder!
