Last year, the McNeil family joined us in celebrating around the Advent wreath as we began a very special Catholic family tradition together. Although we light the Advent wreath every night of Advent as a family, once a year we are so happy to welcome the
McNeils to join in our celebration. We truly make a night of it! (We do it all, too: the special Advent prayer that
Oma created, the Jesse Tree, the Advent Book, and the songs to celebrate the birth of Christ.) It was all
SOOO much fun!!!
And then it was time for the presents! Look at Colin's reaction to his birthday gift this year!!! It was a really cool pop-up dinosaur book (one of the passions that Colin and Leia share). We got this idea from Grandma, who bought one for Leia this Christmas! Boy will she be surprised & happy!!! We also bought the
McNeils an Advent Book of their own, as well as some other various and sundry dinosaur / cooking / baking related items. Annie gave her Godparents (Eric & Laurie) a special Rudolph ornament with her picture and a dedication on the back.
Leia was overjoyed to find an Angelina Ballerina doll from Miss Laurie!!!
Not to mention a Pegasus Pony!!!
And Annie got a very special Mickey Mouse Christmas Book that plays songs! (That's right up her alley!!!) Push-buttons, songs, flaps, or pop-ups, . . . you can't go wrong! And she received her very favorite Elmo & Cookie Monster flip-tops and push-button toys, too.
Trevor and Logan were thrilled to find four HUGE blow-up dinosaurs on our porch. (We hid them on purpose!) Now they can "roar" and "roar" the day away!!!
And later I found this on the stairs, is this "Evidence: Leia" or what?!?
