Leia, Annie, and I played lots of games today, . . . but this is always one of their favorites: "Ladybug Swirl." And this is the first picture I have taken that has really done the game justice. Basically, Annie tries to grab the "crawling" ladybug while Leia dances around it. So much joy! ; ) And this is the reason why Annie's birthday and Halloween costume will be ladybug themed. Annie can stay focused on this wind up ladybug for a half an hour or more!

Lightly Ladybugs
This picture caption here should read: "Lightly Salted Cretaceous Puffs"! Silly, silly Leia! Today she came up to me and said, "Can I please have some more of Annie's lightly salted cretaceous puffs?" What?!? I laughed really hard and had no idea what she was taking about until she described this Gerber knock-off baby snack from Wal-Mart. The story behind this name is multi-faceted. First, there's a song on Playhouse Disney by one of the guys-who-are-in-their-thirties-and-yet-for-some-reason-gear-their-band-toward-kids groups that's called "My Favorite Snack Is." Well, in this song, they sing about many snacks, including "lightly salted popcorn." Leia Rose used to joke when she was three (and when Annie was first born) about "le salte popcorn" and finally put it all together. Second, Leia Rose has a favorite sticker book about Finding Nemo where the little seahorse named Sheldon also likes "lightly salted crustacean puffs." Well, Leia insists that it's "Cretaceous Puffs," but everyone can guess why, . . . The Cretaceous Period: the Age of the Dinosaurs! : )
