Relaxing Monday at Home

First a crawling update: [No, not quite . . . ]

Here is Annie in her next stage of crawling progress. Now she gets on her knees and moves one forward (it doesn't matter which one), but sticks her other leg out to the side to push herself forward. And, yes, she still flops on her tummy. One of these days there's going to be a video of her crawling on here, . . .

During Annie's first nap, Leia Rose and I hung out in the bonus room and played our board game of Pac Man. Any of you vintage gamers remember this one? We didn't have the video game at home when I was growing up, so this was our substitute, complete with marbles and ghost gobbler privileges. : )

And somehow Leia always finds a way to get on the treadmill under the guise of exercise, . . .

. . . but what she really wants to do is "slide" down it onto the bed behind. Yeah, this game had to be squelched pretty quickly for safety reasons.

Here is Leia Rose building a super-high tower and saying, "Mom, don't take the picture yet! I'm not done!"

"Okay, now I'm done. You can take the picture." Just look how high this tower is!

Annie played with the blocks, too. She discovered that, if you hit them together, they have musical properties. I was trying to teach her both the sign for blocks (making an "X" in front of you with your arms, which is really the verb, but oh well) and the primary colors while I built some towers for her, . . .

. . . and Annie is excellent at knocking them down! A good lesson in cause and effect!

Just as a side note, Annie ate a huge bowl of food tonight, . . . exactly what we ate: barbecue pork, broccoli, roasted potatoes, and pears. None of it was ground up either, just small pieces (but not as small as you think she'd need). I had to give her an extra helping of pork and two extra helpings of potatoes. I couldn't believe she ate two entire florets of broccoli! (She definitely ate more than Leia Rose tonight!) Is it possible that dinner is becoming messier and more relaxing, both in regards to Annie self-feeding? (Note to self: a suction cup bowl on the table totally takes care of the "swiping" problem.)
