Silly Leia & Playdate +

Today, before we left for our playdate with the McNeils, Leia Rose grabbed this from her dollhouse and said, "Hey, I need my lamp!" I looked at her funny and asked her why. "I need it to light up the car!" [Laughter] Silly Leia! : )

Here's Annie with Godmommy Laurie. : ) Poor Laurie & Eric, they were so frazzled when we got there. They were having a really nice cypress tree planted (almost fully grown) in their back yard and they gave her the wrong information about the size of the auger. It didn't fit through their fence. The workers had to dig the hole by hand. Well, at least I learned why our soil is so hard. Millions of years ago, some volcano in Virginia spewed three feet of ash all the way to us! It has compacted into a few inches and is as hard as cement. "That's why all the soil here is orange," Eric said. What happened to Carolina Clay? Perhaps that's part of it. : ) Ah, I miss geology. At least I was able to share my knowledge of glacial plucking (that deposited the large stones in our particular area).

Leia, Trevor, Logan, and Colin spent time playing with these cool blocks called "pop-ons" . . .

. . . And Leia also made a neat tower of legos. (I think Leia looks older in this picture.)

But one of the neatest thing to see today was how Trevor was so taken with Annie! He absolutely loved her! After she woke up from her nap (we put the pack-n-play in Laurie's room), Trevor didn't leave her side. He was hugging her . . .

. . . or he was just simply watching her play, but he was enthralled. It was absolutely adorable. : )

Probably the most amazing thing about this Trevor-love is that he gave her one of what he calls his "na-nas." The beginning of giving up that lovie! That's wonderful, Trevor! I'm not sure Annie knew quite what to do with the pacifier, but she sure did appreciate it as a chewing toy. : )

And here's Colin. Um, he's the one who was so intent on having a "date" with Leia the other day? Remember? Night at the Museum? Well, today he was all about solitary play. See Leia playing alone in the background? Ha! Men! This is just the beginning of the frustration, Leia. Just the beginning. ; )

A round of "Aaaaaahhhh's" after dinner anyone??? . . .

And here's another "silly Leia" pic, holding up "Mr. Banana Peel," who she eventually made into a puppet. "Grrrrr, I'm Mr. Banana Peel! . . . Don't worry, I'm just a banana peel!" [Laughter] Silly Leia!

And it was Leia who suggested Twister as our family game after nighttime cleanup tonight. She forgot how much exercise it is, . . . and so did I! ; )
